The Pumas are our girls Junior Olympic (JO) volleyball teams. We belong to the New England Region Volleyball Association (NERVA) and compete in local tournaments throughout the region. We compete in the following age brackets:
12U - birthdays on or after 9/1/97
14U - birthdays on or after 9/1/95
15U - birthdays on or after 9/1/94
16U - birthdays on or after 9/1/93
17U - birthdays on or after 9/1/92 (may be combined with 18U)
18U - birthdays on or after 9/1/91, or birthdays on or after
September 1, 1990 and a high school student during some part of the current academic year
The teams are coached by adults with extensive coaching and playing experience, including former High School and College coaches and players. Practices are at the University of Lowell Campus Recreation Center, Lowell Catholic High, Lowell Boys and Girls Club, and at Greater Lawrence Technical School in Andover, typically on Saturdays mornings or early afternoon (to be assigned). We require some organized volleyball playing experience to play - middle school or high school team, or one of our in-town volleyball classes or equivalent.
Club teams: 18 week season starting in January, practices are once per week on Saturdays. Attends 5-6 tournaments. Cost is $450
Power teams: Highly selective 14U, 16U, 17U, and 18U teams. 20 week season starting in December, practices on Saturdays and one mid-week Tuesday practice. Competes in the NERVA Open Divison Qualifier. Attends 7-8 tournaments, some may be out of region. Cost is $900.
A discount is given to multiple girls in the same family.
